this is Steve Wier I used to write for the David Letterman show this is Mike Chism who spent entire life dreaming of being on the David Letterman show and will never happen watch his podcast instead welcome once again to the Letterman podcast my name is Mike Chisum and I'm Candace Chisum yeah you are yeah you are uh you're back another podcast another hair color yeah that's true that's true in my Miss Frizzle area Miss Frizzle which is great because I think your demographic would actually know who that is I get any time I say it there's like majority of people are like who Miss Frizzle oh my gosh um scho bus you know okay I hope when you saying that this is this is my now my hope to the universe I hope Steve O'Donnell watches this episode and I hope that Steve O donnald gets the reference and it even makes him smile that would make this entire episode worthwhile and he does watch of these I look like FR I don't know who M Frizzle is I know I don't know the magic school I'm sorry I don't know I don't know I don't even know if I can continue how can you not okay you more have the um um oh what's our gal from uh white man can't jump um Rosie Rosie Perez you got kind of the Rosie Perez thing going and I know because sometimes you actually break into especially if you've had a cocktail or two you can actually break into the Rosie perz had before this episode no we've had no cocktails today oh maybe that's that's an interesting episode idea um maybe we can do that in the future with some of our our lamman friends uh that'd be fun um thank you for coming back I appreciate it we're gonna finish off the California trip here yeah and I like this episode because it's it's Community stuff I just cleared my throat right into the microphone good morning you're welcome sorry about that people uh it is the morning actually we're in the morning here you've actually been to the gym already and uh tickets to the gun show there they are um out guno you did legs today I did leg press did you do a straight up leg press I did how much did you do today 360 pounds my girl right on very very very good um this is a this is kind of a neat I like this episode a lot we're in the summertime already as we're recording these things and and um getting guests uh around their travel a lot of people want to come on the show we got Anton Anton's coming on soon I'm just working with him as to a date to have Anton on that's great and and some other folks as well uh but it's just with the summertime people's schedule that sort of a thing so it's good that you and I are doing this and it's a bit of a community episode and this episode is actually a really good book end to the episode we did I don't know a couple months back with Jay Ryan talking about nuks because uh this this is the tail end of the California trip and one of the the highlights of this uh of of this part of the trip was I got to go to Good Vibes breakfast in a weird way uh um but uh but before we get there and and so and then also with Hillary Rollins and and and some other great highlights I met with Jed from late nighter um on the on the the very end of the trip but before that uh before we get into the actual rest of the trip you and I watched the John meany my next guest needs no introduction um so David Letterman went to Chicago and and it's interesting what they're doing it's it's because they just released U what they've called a new season which is two episodes with my Cyrus and Charles Barkley but the John meany episode was a standalone episode that came out on Netflix and it's very interesting I don't know if they're going to do more where they just release Standalone episodes of Dave doing and they just kind of do them as they go along or if they're actually going to B gather them into Seasons the way that they've done in the past it's very interesting what they're doing but you and I you love John meany I do love John meany what is it about John meany that you love so much uh I mean I I think he's ridiculously funny um and you know yeah his his humor is clever and also I think like I think he's just getting better um I know he was writer for a long time SNL and all things like that but you know Baby J I think was quite brilliant I loved his um honesty and his openness around addiction and uh and you know was able to humanize it um yeah there's just so much I love about him I think he's I think he's rather Fant fantastic yeah you know it's funny uh his earlier specials like I think about Comeback Kid and and and and kid gorgeous um his appearances on Saturday Night Live I thought have been have been very very good every time he's been on the show um yeah he's an incredible actually if you want to see a really good John melany set early on and I mean looking at it now wondering you know after after watching baby J and hearing him you know talking with Dave so frankly um some of these specials you gotta kind of Wonder okay how much of this amazing energy is fueled by chemicals it's it's fueled by drugs but but if you want to watch a really awesome uh John meany set go and watch I believe it was um The Mark Twain Prize when David Letterman uh was received received the Mark Twain Prize he had a whole bunch of uh folks come out and do presentations while he's up in the in in the balcony probably hating every minute of the pump and Circumstance but enjoying watching these performers um U you know form with tribute in mind to him Steve Martin and and and Martin Short Norm McDonald was on there he did an Norm said on that was actually very very funny but John melany was there and he tells a story about uh seeing Dave at a um uh it was it was with President Obama then President Obama and then Vice President Biden anyway uh they were sorry I just had a Biden moment did you see that just H you see what I did there yeah anyway um no so so be longer yeah okay yeah that was more that was more maybe a Reagan moment perhaps um yeah so so so John malany came out he was if there was a kid or or or perhaps a you know a young upand cominging comic on this group of people that were tributing Dave for this prestigious prize perhaps he was that role and he told this story about how they were in an army base and uh and and his dad was there and his dad saw David Letterman immediately walked over to him and and started talking about his beard and everybody was more nervous about David Letterman than than President Obama and Vice President Biden it was just a very very good set very tight and um hearing him there and then moving over to what we saw when we watched uh my next guest it was just boy can you ever see the evolution and the car the personal development of this amazing uh Entertainer brilliant mind and boy he's been given a a second chance at life when he talked about um that moment in rehab um where the doctor said to him there's only one way that this thing ends um we know how this movie ends we know how this movie ends yes exactly exactly and uh yeah I don't you know I know we can't spend a ton of time on on this necessar but just my one I think takeaway or the one thing that I noticed is just because of of building the um men's mental health platform go to heang it.com everybody now we can write this off yeah was uh when when it was John his dad and and Dave at the restaurant and if you haven't seen it I don't want to necessarily give it away but it was just an incredibly tender open vulnerable moment that I feel is very poignant because it's kind of the evolution of men's mental health and and in that I think it's probably the rawest I've seen Dave in in a in a while and I think because in that minute like just really really quick they were talking he was talking to his dad about did he think that Jon would die from his addiction and like that that was a really big possibility and uh and I you could see Dave transport himself into that parent role with Harry and um he welled up started to and they all had to take a minute and it was um I love that they left it in um yeah I think it's I think everybody should watch it yeah there actually I good point about leaving things in I I could not agree more that the the the the intercut it's so neat how they do my next guest how they have the actual panel whether it's in front of an audience or whether it's uh you know one-on-one um and the interview the conversation but then they intercut all of these neat scenes one of the scenes being in a restaurant with his dad John's dad and and and and John and Dave um you know either enjoying a nice meal or pretending to enjoy it a nice meal um but and then there was other scenes of of going back to John's High School and then they talked to high school some high school kids of the the school that John went to that was that was very funny but I like what you said about how they they chose to leave this in there was a scene that I just was so I loved it so much that they left it in and it was a scene where Dave was asking John about uh oh if he ever thought when he was going to high school that he might fill the Hollywood Bowl one day and and and and and and 18,000 people would fill the Hollywood Bowl to come and see him and and and John answered the question and then it was I think it was just one take and then John looked at Dave and said hey can you ask me that question again please and Dave was like which one and and and and you got a chance to see kind of the behind the scenes sort of how things work and I love the choice to leave that in I actually when I originally watched the episode I I I messaged one of the producers and I said that was brilliant that you left that in I I thought that was really cool because you get to see kind of the the real it makes it feel more like a real dialogue rather than some put together plastic it's available presentation it's available is a good word I like that word but it was funny because he reworked the question he didn't actually ask it the same way which I thought was also interesting da yeah yeah as an interviewer he was like sure and then he went around in another way which was cool yeah anyways we got to get get getting about you oh are you producing me I'm producing I'm like we got 45 minutes no we're fine we're fine and I'm gonna I'm gonna talk about the trip here the the end of the trip to La so yeah anyway highly recommend watching highly recommend it watching yeah yeah I mean just very and like when you do it just do it with an open heart I think when you just watch yeah I I think um not that you wouldn't but when celebr but when celebrities like again baby J his special and we are going to get to the trip we're we're good don't worry we're good I've got this I have to work all day I'm a semi-professional can make this happen it's okay um you know but but but again baby J John mlan special I can't wait for his next one because bab J was all about kind of talking about his you know he was squeaky clean in many many respects some would say as a as as a comic um you know America sweetheart type type personality um in all of those specials and then you know you hear he's in the news all the time and he's talking about he went through very you know public um you know the divorce uh due to to you know his his descent into addiction and and and the realization of that and then uh fast forward to a new relationship and having a kid and all that sort of stuff and he's in the news all the time and and that reputation which I don't know how much he cares about it or doesn't care about it but either way public perception when it comes to figures like this is a big thing and um that was one of the things that he talked about to the high school kids so so baby Jay talks about the entire thing and he does in my opinion a masterful job of taking a very very difficult subject and just creating an unbelievable like surgeon like Precision making a a comedic um outing of that um as well as being vulnerable at the same time which is a Highwire act to say the least in the high school one of the kids actually asked him um when you're writing jokes how do you make sure you don't get cancelled and John I love that question I love that question because if there's anybody out there who who may have thought about that over the last few years I would put him on that list and um and and I mean I'm not a fan of C Council culture at all like I'm I'm very excited for the pendulum to kind of swing back a little bit and and and and let be all be less a little judgy because none of us are perfect um we all go through our uh hard times in life and sometimes they're very very very hard but there's a high school kid who's you know in their formative years and that's is what they've seen around them and they asked them about that and and he was like oh oh yeah I don't even consider that he goes I have a barometer but I don't even consider that he goes chel culture is just like negative feedback and I thought that was I thought that was very funny yeah but he also said that's what producer that's that uh not producers did he say producers he said or critics it was something about like that's not and he didn't say media he was sure did not say media but he made it sound like what you're hearing with cancel culture because he also went on to say that he knows a lot of brilliant people who have in perception been uh cancelled and he says they are have great thriving careers like he says it's just like what you're seeing isn't necessarily the truth yeah with it when it comes to council culture which I think that everybody feels you know what they maybe what goes around on Instagram but that's not very yeah Cas it was interesting and they left that in and again you know talking about this we've talked to so many uh producers in writers and folks who who who have um produced Dave shows over the years and they've talked about how you know when they go and shoot these remotes if you want to call it that it's hours and hours and hours of footage that they have and the fact that they chose to leave that in I thought that was good I think there's a lot of leadership that's happening with uh my next guest I really do I think that it's not just entertainment but it's it's uh it's also infot pastic it's also um Insight I I yes again and I I can't wait to watch Miley with you I you're going to love Miley's episode as well um and a very misunderstood well and and I mean you know you talked about somebody who had the public eye growing up so so that I can't wait to watch that one with you um and and go from there did I get invited back when we watch it no I'm gonna bring a real guest on for that one I'm just kidding yeah no are you kidding me you have a standing invite anytime um you you're any time you can't get I promise you like I mean this and I mean this from the bottom of my heart your proxim imity to the studio is closer than any other potential guest I could ever ask for I'm sorry I love you I'm not sorry that I love you I'm sorry period I love you all right so where we left off um we're going back to Hollywood okay we're going back to the uh the the VIP Hollywood Hotel um the night Hollywood Hollywood so where we last left off uh I had just seen Dave interview um Tim Robinson from I think you should leave and uh I went to the In-N-Out Burg I that was one thing in the episode that I forgot to say after seeing the show I went to the uh to in andout burger for I don't know the I think that's just understood well yeah perhaps it is a given that I'm going to go to the in andout burger if I'm in California and that's what I did I had two double doubles um reveling in in in in in seeing what I just saw uh with with Don Cary and that was fantastic um had a good very very good night's sleep uh and then had to wake up to drive to Santa Monica because the next day and this this all kind of happened while while I was on the trip this is one of those things that happened um remember the first time we went to Steven Lor's place okay we so we're in we're in Steven Lor's place in the upper west side and or upper east side I should say in New York and we're just getting to know each other at that point and and and became fast friends at the table I start talking about I start asking Steve about Jack Rollins Jack Rollins is David Letterman's uh leg the manager one of his first I would say Dave's first real high-profile manager legendary and Jack Rollins is a guy who well I'll talk about it on here a little bit um it looks like you know we're GNA try and see if we can make a documentary about Jack um and Hillary Rollins is is Jack's daughter and and and and his two daughters um he had three unfortunately um one passed away um but but Franchesca and Hillary desperately want to to to to make a love letter to their dad um and we we kind of came up with a blueprint for it so so so anyway we're sitting there talking to Steve and Lori and remember there Steve was like you got to meet Hillary like he said that to us years this is years ago he said you got to meet Hillary you gotta you gotta meet Jack's daughter and and you know he Steve had stories about lots of stories about Jack you know Woody Allen stories and and and and Harry Bonte stuff but then but then Robert kleene and and and how Jack was just this amazing he was a guy who really at the end of the day I don't know if he was the the very first Hollywood Talent or or not Hollywood entertainment talent manager um but he certainly created a blueprint for it and entire industry you think about you know William Morris or CA and all these companies that have have sprouted up many can go back and say Jack would have been an elder in that and he was oldtime Show Business and took on David Letterman who was at that time you know many would consider a diamond in the rough and and Jack had this ability to do that and so those are the questions that I was asking Stephen Lori and just we we were having this discussion and he's like you got to meet Hillary you got to meet Hillary wellow fast forward two years I finally got to meet Hillary uh I went to her place in Santa Monica and it's I'll tell you this seeing somebody who is a fullon stereotypical new Yorker living in a Beach Community in California is trippy it was so fun going to meet Hillary and I went there um uh for breakfast and we started talking and it was it was like two long lost Friends Meeting for the first time I am I adore her she is fantastic and um we had a fantastic conversation about uh entertainment she you know I'll put a picture up here she's got a you know ass signed baseball from Billy Crystal sitting on her uh uh you know just casually sitting over there on the on the table I post a picture of that I'll post a picture of Hillary and I we had a fantastic time and we talked about what this documentary could be and and and and we need to do it sooner than later because some of these people that that that that were so impacted by Jack are in their 70s and 80s now you know Dave included uh and so we're going to try very very hard to make this documentary in fact the meeting was so good um we had another meeting later that night so any questions about that does that sound succinct tight yeah all right there we go um I after that um drove back to Hollywood to go see Jimmy Kimmel and that was a lot of fun so um that was set up and I want to I want to do a little little tribute here and I I've meant to thank her but I wanted to thank her in this episode so I haven't actually gotten back to her for this uh Joanna Jordan set me up to go see Jimmy and I'll and I'll I'll even put this on the table there have been overtures to try and get Jimmy on this show perhaps because Jimmy does take the summer off and he's had guest hosts on his show um we can get Jimmy on you love Jimmy right I love Jimmy there we go I've been waiting to I I haven't seen him that in in real we didn't I haven't been able to see no you weren't yeah yeah you Haven we you haven't seen his and coar and coar which also is really good of course Letterman but I'd love if there's one that I definitely want to see you know next time it' be Jimmy for sure so yeah and and of course uh you know Joanna Jordan big-time friends with with Jimmy and and she adores him and and and has in my opinion really helped nurture him and and and and and been his uh she's had his back you know you have like a have Jimmy hashtag or some campaign let's get Jimmy on okay yeah well we can do that we can maybe do that but but I'll I'll tell you this um she has been I just appreciate Joanna so so much um she is a a giant um in in the entertainment world and and I appreciate everything that she has done for for for me and support um I just I adore her she is fantastic and she set me up to go see the show um fun so yeah so I get there and and I go to the the line I said hey um I think I'm on a list somewhere and they look and look oh yeah VIP list suddenly there's this huge list of people or you know long line of people that are that are that are out there like no you come here you come with us and and I you know it's so funny I don't like being that guy but then it's kind of fun to be that guy uh it it it really it's more fun than what we had to do for Fallon we had to wait in line for Fallon for 700 hours yes that's right absolutely you should just be that guy well and it's and it was it was very very cool they brought me right up to the front um they brought me in early they had a seat sitting there for me uh which I was very very very excited about and and and Joanna so thank you so much Joanna you are you're amazing I appreciate the support so so much as we grow this thing I can't wait till our Worlds Collide this much more this is something I'm actively trying to manifest uh to make that happen and um you know and and and maybe we can start getting some alers on here um because me well yeah I mean present company excluded um again remember you yeah absolutely you are the guest with by far by far the closest proximity to this studio um no it's not a monar I take l oh good thank you I'm glad to hear that uh so anyway yeah I get to I get to Kimmel and I'll show pictures here as we as we do this and I was I was chitchatting with the uh the warm-up guy the warmup guy was incredible he's actually potentially gonna come on the show here uh as as well not off the top of my head yeah so thank that out no no no I I won't I won't leave it in it's it's real it is real when you came down here actually that was something I was going through I was going through my notes of the of the time that was something I was looking for and then you're like let's get going we have an hour all right all right okay let's do this Tik Tok Tik Tok so anyway talking to him he did a phenomenal job like and it's interesting looking at the differences between like the guy for Cole be was amazing Paul um the guy for Frasier who I I got to see was was amazing but completely different and again this guy here is so different as well and just really really good uh at at at getting the crowd ready to go Jimmy did does not come out before the show um and it was a move that I forget who it was that it might have been Don Rickles that that that said to him you know don't come out beforehand but he does exchange with the audience uh in the first commercial break um but it was very very interesting watching uh how Kimmel works and it was a fantastic show it really really was who are the guests uh the guests were Chris Pine and Bert ker Chris Pine Pine Chris Pine you like Chris Pine yeah and he was all like hippie dippy with the long hair and all that kind of stuff the way that uh the way that you like him and the way that I aspire to be but fail miserably um but I'm trying damn it I'm trying no he looked great and it was it was um one of the Chris's yeah one of the Chris's and they had an exchange about all sorts of stuff they talked about like mushrooms and they talked about Jimmy the one thing I I I love about Jimmy is he is unabashedly authentic and and and you know know you love when you talk when he talks about the mental health stuff things like that I you know but that he just he's I I believe he's fearless and I believe that that is something that he has had right from the very very beginning he went from The Man Show and when he first started this show like like if you look like we're we're talking 20 years here almost like like you know his interview with Suge Knight at the very beginning of his career some of the things that the choices he has made The Stumbling forward he has done the one thing that I love about Jimmy is he is you know you can tell he's got Howard Stern David Letterman his influences because he really is fearless talking about he he'll talk about anything he wants to talk about or at least it certainly appears that way it's uh it was it was a fantastic experience uh his show has Edge to it and I think that his show has more Edge to it than the other offerings that are out there right now in late night and and ie yeah and and you know you can see the Letterman worship and the Letterman influence so did Bert have a shirt on uh did Bert what oh B ber yeah yes Bert kept his shirt on for the uh for the entire exchange it was seeing Bert CH I mean Bert I obviously want on this show as well um for those who haven't seen Dave on Neil Brennan's podcast um blocks might be my favorite David Letterman interview uhon conversation where he was the focal point in modern memory I love that very very much and in that interview they call Bert crer and they leave him a voicemail so I desperately want to have Bert on this show and I want to talk about that because I know it was a big deal for him uh and then more so because Bert you know amazing standup and and and trajectory I want to know about his he's got he's on a health Journey big time right now Bert has gone on many Health Journeys over the time like like a big one yeah yeah and right now he's he's he's doing it again I mean it's just bird is a very very interesting cat and uh and and funny as all get out I would love to have him on the show one day and and I'd love to have a conversation with his wife oh yes yes absolutely uh one of my favorite I don't know about the Letterman podcast but you'd be a great guest on another podcast maybe I'll have her on she cast ah hey plug number two she changed it coming soon um so anyway yeah Kimmel was amazing I'll throw uh some of the pictures I got in here and and and and it's very interesting because it's a very small studio and to go see the musical guest you have to you everyone has to get up and they go to a different part of the building to stand and they have yeah and it's so cool because it's a standing room only vibe to watch the musical guest which again it is it's a different it's a different vibe people people I don't know if they were dancing but they were definitely sing uh I was watching and I I'm so sorry I forget the G's name I I forget her name she's unbelievable R&B artist she's it was fantastic but I only heard most of it because I was literally focused on Jimmy I was watching Jimmy the entire time talking with his staff talking with uh just just watch I I love that I love the behind the scenes stuff um even during the show when when when Pine was on panel I was even I was looking over and I was looking at the writers and I was looking at the just to see the the mechanics of the show that fascinates me to no end uh fantastic experience again Joanna Jordan I adore you thank you so much for hooking that up for me and um yeah you're you're you're you're the best you're absolutely the best after Kimmel uh I'm back in the car and I'm back to Santa Monica because Hillary um as part of our conversation Hillary Rollins says to me um I think you need to meet Franchesca which is her sister and uh she's like can we do when when are you gone I'm like well technically tomorrow I'm I'm out of here um I'm gonna go to Good Vibes breakfast and then I'm just gonna head hit the road and um so she's like can you come back tonight and I did and and and Franchesca and Hillary and I we ate at a restaurant called the upper west which I thought was fantastic it's like you know New York theme yeah and and we had an amazing dinner uh we kind of caught Franchesca up to the amazing uh topics that we had talked about that day and we want to do this and we have a we have a blueprint in mind as to how we would do this so the the goal is um we want to do probably a six or seven episode podcast series about Jack and have some of these folks on um and and and and have you know nice conversations about Jack like we'd like to have dick cavitt back on um for this we'd like to have Robert Klein Billy Crystal uh if Woody Allen would do it that would be amazing and and and and a couple other people who might be maybe not as well known but knew Jack and have some really good stories about Jack and we would create there'd be intentional things to to to to create about the story of Jack and and and just how special he was and how revered he was uh the ups and the Downs because there were UPS there were down like there's a question about with with Dave that I want to ask very very very much and it has to do with Dave and The Tonight Show um and and Jack was his manager at the time and and and you you know so so there's a lot of meat on that bone and we want to do a podcast that goes through a lot of this stuff and then we want to take it and basically for lack of a better term shop it and get it to the point where where where where somebody's out there that wants to finance this documentary um on my way back to the restaurant I called Robert Morton and I said hey man this is what we're talking about is it something that you'd want to be involved in and he said for the right situation the right circumstance absolutely so Morty are you okay oh I'm just looking for the name you dropped oh look what you did there look what you did there that was very very clever I thought there was a snake on the ground not at all you gotta hold you accountable to this you your audience needs to hold you accountable to this we need like an ETA when we can expect that this is going to start like all of that because time's a ticken I agree we need to get going on it and and and and like Hillary said you know like these people aren't getting younger none of us are and so and so talking to Morty about it he was like yeah and he he and I have gone back and forth a little bit like no this person could direct and all these other things so um and and I'll tell you this the first people I want to shop it to is worldwide pants um they've been producing some documentaries and and and and financing or in part some documentaries in Partnership and uh that would be really really how cool would that be super cool how cool would that be if if you know I mean Jack Rollins is a legend and it would be really cool to get his story out there it would uh for prosperity and and it again it is it's a love letter from his daughters and I that's the part that I love about it like like there's a lot of cool entertainment stuff to it and and old Hollywood stories and and and and and and um you know the Golden Age Hollywood stories but then the Silver age Hollywood stories as well or entertainment stories I guess uh but then the actual love from two daughters who just want to Tribute their dad who may not he was ridiculously famously humble didn't want this the spotlight on him at all and and in their opinion to the detriment of who he was and and they want to kind of get that out there and I just think it's so sweet to see two girls who want to Tribute their dad and their sister as well uh but want to Tribute their dad um I can't wait I can't wait for it to start yeah so so anyway so that that was a very cool way to um you know you see Dave and then it's like okay what's going to happen the next day well that was an amazing next day and uh so anyway ate you know dinner late into the evening uh there my drive back to Hollywood and then the next morning checkout time uh checkout time for uh for from the the Hollywood VIP hotel and uh so no chalk outlines in my room I made it you were very happy that I made it yeah it is a really nice got so many things about like especially if you're on a budget it's a very nice little hotel the location is amazing yeah I bet um oh there is one thing that I did that night that that last night when I when I when I got back I went down Hollywood Boulevard and there is a uh a place that I wanted to go to I actually went earlier in the trip as well but I went and there was karaoke there uh you know you know I love karaoke you cannot get me off that stage I adore karaoke um there's a there's a a a bar on uh on Hollywood Boulevard called scum and villainy and it is a Star Wars tribute bar like could there ever be a karaoke bar more it's not a karaoke bar but they do karaoke there Kevin Smith does many of his podcasts out of there it's a Fant he does Fatman on Batman I think maybe they've done Hollywood Babylon there as well uh but it is it is like I'll put some pictures up here it is a fantastic uh place and I want to go see it one more time so so so when I go back to the hotel I actually went to scum and villain um and uh I did I it is it's Fant well it's straight out of Star Wars right um you'll never find a more wretched Hive of scum and villainy Kenobi says that about moss I that Moss icely Spaceport um so yeah and and and I I went there and I met some Comics that were there and um you know some that i' I've stayed in contact with because I mean it was the Netflix is a joke Comedy Festival so it was a lot of comics that were there and uh I sang two songs I think it Alive by Pearl Jam and sold to squeeze by the Red Hot Chili Peppers that was fantastic great way to cap off the evening went back to the hotel packed up the next morning checked out and the next stop is Good Vibes breakfast and I've got a lot of videos here that I'm going to show this is where the bookend comes into Jay Ryan because Jay Ryan talking about what they're doing up at noam's Ranch so I've got video that I'm going to play here of of of Jay talking about that but before I get there uh I wasn't sure that I was going to get there this was the treacherous part of the trip and this was it was funny because candy safe to say you you worry about your loved ones when they're on the road indeed okay very much so yeah yeah um and yeah I mean I knew you were going to Good Vibes and I also know like I mean the whole thing about what I probably the most the most catch phrase I hear Jay Ryan say is respect the crest and you know he doesn't say it you know for any reason other than the the what's happened you people have died have died out there because it's like super windy and like to be fair we live in a very mountainous region we have a lot of windy roads with like you know mountains and cliffs and lakes and stuff like that so I I was you know but um yeah it's not something that I think you should take lightly and so the whole trip can't I think it's a good thing that didn't wasn't there well oh gosh okay especially from what I went through so the the Los Angeles Crest uh and by the way here it is right here Jay talks about this this is the cover story on the latest rodent track magazine um that's good vibes right there that's muk's ranch right there on the cover there's yellow car right there there you are there you are there's yellow car yeah there it is um there it is right there that's n and and uh every Friday they have a group of people that go up there and I love the uh I love the first couple lines of the of the of of the talking about um Good Vibes breakfast it's so so cool um no one is invited it's not an event and anyway it takes place on F okay no one's invited it's not an event and anyway it takes place on Friday mornings when you really should be working at least an hourong drive up a mountain and when you finally arrive there's precisely zero working toilets and heaven forbid there's no cell service Wi-Fi sometimes it even snows I think I could hear Jay's voice saying that and and that's yeah I mean you know absolutely that's exactly what it is and it's good vibes is Good Vibes you go up there and it is crazy energy I've been there once before and I was so excited to take Scout there up the Los Angeles Crest Highway that did not happen I went to uh I put my uh in the in the handy little uh navigation system on my telephone I put in the um and by the way the handy little navigation system on my telephone boy do we live in interesting times uh when you consider what those two things were growing up it used to be a paper map and a telephone was something that was on the wall anyway um putting it in I had the directions it was like a 45 minute drive from where I was awesome and it's to Dunkin Donuts now I go to Dunkin Donuts get the stuff that I'm going to bring up there coffee and donuts to bring up and it's awesome and suddenly route is now changed or route is now closed because there is some sort of an infraction on the highway somewhere where and and and there is no ETA and the map on on the Apple Maps disappears completely and I'm like oh and I was like I didn't know what to do I wasn't sure what to what was going on and so then I uh went to Google Maps and I put in the same the the address the address uh there was an hour and 45 minute route to get there and it was a different route than the other one I'm like okay so I guess I'm going around this infraction whatever it is and so uh went driving that way and I drove around I I I knew where the entrance to the crest was because I'd been there before so now I'm driving around what I know would have been a mountain that I would have been going up but I'm driving around that along a different stretch of highway I then go off the highway and I'm getting more Rural and more Rural and more Rural and then I look and one of the places that I need to go to is a thing called alimony Road okay alamon Road and I know called Widow Road oh well yes as opposed to alimon and then alimony Road turned into a forest service road so I literally drove through the Canyons of the you know behind and under the Los Angeles Highway wanted to put BR the Scout to the test it sure did and I'll put put a couple videos here the videos that I put in do not do justice to some of the areas of this I drove Scout through a river okay I drove Scout through a river to this there were Parts where the road was sort of washed out and I had to drive Scout um you know up onto the Bank a little bit because below me is thousands of feet down oh I would have died I would have died I would have died I would have been like stop I'm walking I haven't described this part of the trip to Candy yet I haven't descri any videos yeah and and I I've got a couple I don't have any videos of the treacherous stuff because it was so treacherous there was a couple places that like I put it into four low uh I haven't had to do that before like I put it into 4x4 I haven't had to put Scout into 4x4 for something other than snow since I got her and so so like we got to test Scout and I was I was stoked about that when I once I lived and I realized I was okay through the the hardest part there was there was one part where so I'm going through the cany you seen the canyons and the mountains kind of come around and you're going down and then you're going up and you're going around the edge of mountains that was the treacherous part and that was the part where and then you went down into a canyon and then you came back up again through a through a valley Okay so gvbc nukem's Ranch the route was closed they said there was a closure on Highway 2 so I went and Googled an alternate route and it sent me somewhere down Alam called alimony Road this is alimony Road aply named I have no idea what I'm going to do I'm about 5 miles in I have no idea what I'm going to do if another vehicle shows up especially when I'm on stuff like that this is UN [ __ ] believable and it was meant to happen and uh I am driving the right creature and I don't care if I'm going to be the only person at gvbc today I'm going to get there and if I'm the only one there I'm going to have some good vibes breakfast what a beautiful country wow okay Scout let's do this and then you get back to um a little a bit more of like U you know a graded gravel kind of a thing and then um pave Road and then there's the crest there's the Crest Highway and then I turned right to go down the mountain and there's Nooks on the right and I'll tell you this I thought I was going to be the only one at Good Vibes I think in the video I even say you know what I'm gonna be the only one there I got the coffee I got the donuts it's okay I've got the spirit of Good Vibes I got the spirit I'll be there to represent today because nobody's going to be there and then I'm als like in the back of my mind because they would have all gotten stuck because nobody would have been able to be there and it's like like the magazine says it's not an organized event it's not like you know it's not like Jay every single week is like okay guys the road's closed so we're going to site be no it doesn't work that way people just show up there right and everybody from like in the car Community like Johnny liberman and and and and uh what's that well Leno like well in entertainment too so you got like you know Jay Leno goes up there uh from time to time who's the car guy that goes Reggie Watts well you know um Magnus Walker yeah yeah well Magnus was there that day but I missed him because I was there an hour and a half late but I so so I come down the road and they're all there and it's like oh because the locals all know that there's a secondary kind of way you can kind of go but it's anyway I don't know why Google Map or Apple Maps didn't know it but they all did so they were all there and I show up and Jay I Jay sees me and I'm pulling up and Scout and she's all dirty you know this is what J this is what Jay said I came out he's like hey man what happened and I'm like like so glad to see you love you guys here's the donuts he's like okay let's do it and he brings the donuts out and it's they kind of like a a group of them restarted um the stiglet was there stiglets Mom I gave her a copy of our book um which she loved and um met a whole bunch of people that I've seen on the show who had seen me as producer Mike on cars and comedy show and so that was cool but everybody had left like Magnus had left and all these people left but I'm really glad because I got to spend more time with Jay and Nicole M and that was amazing um but he was surprised because you came he wait did you come from that way because that was a dead end you're like it's not that way like for yellow C would have been well no yeah no no no and I and I say this without an ounce of of of ego um if it wasn't Scout there's no like I would not have taken your you've got a Mazda CX5 I do shout out to Mazda um you know not affiliated not affiliated no not a sponsor of the show not a commercial unsurprisingly not a sponsor of the Letterman podcast Mazda she does drive a CX5 Mazda looking for cx50 Lisa is coming up Lisa is coming up what are we gonna do oh BS in your CT Mazda and and and and your master's name is ver Vera I wouldn't have taken Vera Wang I wouldn't as in Wang uh Wang said Wang um I I I wouldn't have taken uh Miss Wang up that Al yeah yeah like I wouldn't have taken a car up it like like it was sh that no would like I had Scout was like it was so good that I had Scout so he's sitting there tripping out and like oh my gosh and so and Jay was like immediately going oh this is perfect that was the universe giving you like and I love the way that Jay reframes things and and and and Frames situations he goes I'm glad he goes I know you washed and whack Scout and she looked beautiful California which I totally did he goes but now she's here dirty having gone through a journey to get here through the mountains through the Canyons as opposed to the crest which you know expertly weaves around them I actually had a different route to Good Vibes that day and it was amazing and the energy was right Whimsical yeah and somewhat prophetic and you know anecdotal yep um your life yeah yeah well kind of weaving and bobbing around the chosen path yeah and and but still getting to the destination and and with a story to tell in doing it and and so uh um and I'm going to insert the video with Jay here where he talks about uh we go through nukem's and he shows the all the stuff he's do like this renovation that's happening to this place it's like you cook you cook with love this is being renovated with love and he he's putting a whole bunch of the things that he loves so much into this and and and and and there's a cheers aspect to it where he's trying to put up similar things from from from from like the set of cheers and and and other influences that has um that have to do all with feelings as they're renovating this when was the last time that people were allowed at NOS publicly over four years ago four years yeah I mean it closed when the nation and the world did for uh you know 2020 the second week of March or whatever2 and you kept all the same art on the walls from the day it closed no nothing the same nothing's the same nothing in here is the same except for the footprint all the same stuff is in the building but everything has been mov we so you've already gotten to work oh we started ago this is all you okay this used to be motorcycles here I mean if you want the tour yes would love the tour please uh this used to be a motorcycle showroom New Century motorcycle and now it'll be a general store Angeles Prest Highway General Store um serving the community um hopefully six days a week is the goal seven days a week eventually um and Mer store too you know uh myce shirt I'm wearing this shirt right now yeah oh you are you really are I am that's awesome yeah General Store merch Wing yeah I mean you know it all needs to be figured out but you can even try on the shirt for there is a modesty curtain well there'll be a lot of things right I mean we're going to have a a big mortgage to pay off so it's going to be can we talk everything they going to be plate frames and bunker stickers everything you could possibly imagine that somebody could keychains what do you want we'll make it and sell it this was always motorcycles it was always like a huge motorcycle and it was very frustrating to us cuz it seemed like it would be such a nice place to sit so the moment the motorcycles were gone I moved a bench in this table over here just to see what are we talking Harley or crotch rockets or what kind of motorcycles uh BMW okay there we go but just if you move your camera over there to where it was if you were sitting at that if you were if you were sitting at that bench it's such a nice oh God it's like the best SE in the house none of these signs would be there and look there's yellow car it is beautiful and you look at the bar too and the bar is so [ __ ] Charming well so keep in mind cheers right the the the inspiration here is cheers for a lot of reasons one everybody calls it their Mountain cheers y to that's my favorite bar in the world I grew up going to it obviously the show as well but my friend recreated the office I mean the Cheers Bar in his office we've got a very very very long history with cheers one of the original gbb seers also uh the dad designed the set for cheers so um we're going to lean into cheers a little bit stand in the wood a little darker put the drink rail in above um you know maybe have coffee mugs instead of wine glasses but regardless we'll sell the sell the idea so in here it'll have that sort of feeling and if you look around on the wall you'll see things from cheers already that have made their way over like jono of course MH representing the coach in the old days absolutely and there's this was was behind Norm by the by the hallway towards the bathroom and these are actually from my buddy Sean's old office at uh Disney well what a cool thing that Bishop could help donate to this yeah you know Sean of course you know Sean I forgot salm and Diane yeah these are from his office when he had the cheers office so the other night I'm talking to the casting director of Frasier who was the casting director on Cheers and I said you're the guy that replaced Shelley Long with Kirsty Aly and uh we had a good little talk about that look at this look at this this was the first theying day that Nicole used a cane in public and she was very very self-conscious about it very nervous so I bought a bunch of canes and a bunch Gro blasters off of Amazon and everybody just put them on and we went outside and it was like look you're not the only one and this guy we hadn't seen in forever and he was here today and no kidding he actually took that photo with a remote in his hand from across the street it's neat right it's amazing and this is the building we're in way back when when it had two stories now it only has a small section of the building that has two stories now that's the main house now now compared to this no I uh you want to know where the second floor went yeah it burned down into a fire oh okay okay okay yeah right and then when they rebuilt they just rebuilt the first floor I don't know if they I don't think they we ideally we would rebuild the second floor eventually like down the road W because well it looks great it's historically accurate and then it allows more overnight capacity yeah um it looks like everything is clear to do that if for any reason we can't we would build another building um like a barn light looking building kind of up near the woods kind of you know the area I'm poting I do that's where I came from and uh and then it would be uh you know like imagine like it looks like a barn but kind of Center Hall with maybe five rooms on each side and then that overnight capacity cuz there's only five rooms upstairs now and that's not enough for a bed and breakfast you know gotcha well also like I'm when you have that I'm coming here for good the night before right right and I think a lot of people will rallies will and the goal is to uh partner with you know the manufacturers and do riding drives and and press launches and stuff like that here as well look at this place so we have moved everything that's in here around but all of this stuff was here so this this is nuk's ran um there was never a seating area near the fireplace we just kind of moved some furniture around to kind of create one but imagine comfortable couches and stuff that's a little bit softer and nicer what the hell are these chairs is that from like a like an arcade machine I don't know I think that or maybe a Lotus something that's fantastic no it's the hey motorcycle y you know that'd be a lovely place to sit I'm just and then if you keep coming this way oh hey well who's on the mantle uh on the right is the doctor that is the the previous uh owner and his estate currently owns it uh our friends are his son and daughter mhm and um but that's Dr rle there Dr Fred rle he purchased nukem's Ranch from the nuks L Nukem in I think 2000 or 2001 something like that and they've owned it ever since Dr Rundle passed away sadly a few years ago 2019 I think and uh Sunny uh excuse me his son Freddy has been running it ever since until shut during Co awaiting you the entrance of you being ready yeah so now this is the it was previously known as the chileo room keep that name or not probably will it's got its own bar but yeah so this is this will be uh a new space to do live entertainment um it's also a room you could rent out for you know special events or weddings whatever is it a small stage oh I'm sorry no no no no no no please keep going I I just got my Spiel down I'm sorry no I want to I want to answer you I'm sorry um this I think could be a perfect standup room oh yeah so that's the goal so yeah so like you know imagine like an 8 or N9 inch stage just one step up just a little bit below the the window here um and uh there would be a piano against that wall there like a honky tonk you know Roadhouse piano oh yeah and then yeah live stand up comedy um live podcasts because there's room to do live podcasts um and if they're Automotive podcasts with this room this window behind you it just it's a great room to you know watch the smoking Tire record live watch Spike fison or Magnus or us or whoever um you know record their show imag you know the Acoustics in here are terrible you're done with it imagine proper lighting and you know what this is like a new place room for you 100% this is the expansion of the late night playet yeah well I mean it's going to get bigger that's not confirmed we've been fighting that I've been fighting that a lot but the truth is the elf shaped desk goes perfect here God with the two guest chairs right here spot in the right spot and then the piano over there it's kind of built where Paul is yeah or Reggie or whoever I mean it just so happens that we have real man leaders built into our little Community here so who knows this is all happening however you know it's supposed to we're we're kind of not um we're not holding the range too tightly because none of this is happening how we thought it would you know it's the worst possible thing for us to be biting off right now way more than we can chew but you get it and then you know so curtains for night time to close it off close the windows all um but daytime's pretty pretty neat open and then we'll set dress the hell out of it there's Nicole out there with the boys you got to make sure we still go across the street even when you're that's a beautiful thing right there what you're doing here is amazing what you're doing here is [ __ ] amazing my creative juices are like in Adrenaline overdrive because there are so many idea there's I just can't wait to see the space realized how I see it yeah and then my head everyone's filled the space and is enjoying it so like the Visions I have are not just of like oh the room will look pretty like whatever this place is people love it and that's how it used to be people just used to love coming up here mhm it was a Escape it was a rest bit it still is the feeling out there as we were sitting out there I have never felt anything like that you feel it too I feel it in every pore and you're Canadian I know does this make you feel like home and we're in the Backwoods yeah it does we just need the The Bare Naked Ladies playing oh no I'm talking like if I had a million like Old School uh well it's the same album Same album but uh so you get it right so there's AB table here somewhere and somebody's cutting the cameras but you lights and there yep but but not overdoing you want you to still feel like you're in this Roadhouse but some of these tables like magnus's idea was to pull some of these out and put like low couches coffee tables and I love that idea so we'll probably do something like that where it'll get even less formal these photographs you no they were all here I mean I them over the tables everywhere but but no they were all here they were all sign I think 9 yep 2002 for this one God that right there yeah right comes with the place yeah no [ __ ] and it goes with it too so what's NE that that thing is Immortal it stays there but what's neat about this is it not only shows the second floor it shows this is the original building how it was when there wasn't a bar in the front right so the bar that we all walk through used to be this front porch so all of these posts are still outside they're just the front wall of the building and if you look at this which was again the the original front of the building double door Square window double door Square window those are still in existence right through right by the motorcycle is one of the squares yep in the Next Room the motorcycle is at that square there's a double door and the pool tables at that square then there's a double door and this is a uh uh is the bathrooms now there we go and then the store would be over here this is probably back when it was a general store can you see what that oh tagin toin so it used to be the Ski Shack Ye Old Ski Shack for uh not water man is it neat it's wonderful oh and over here it says dining room and Cocktails I love love that so you know this stuff is pretty neat might get this cleaned seems a little bit of water residue but we'll we'll take or not it's pretty it's got a lot of character it's an old building it's a real ass sign all right come with the place another bar here fantastic yeah so I mean you know you can rent it out for weddings but we see ride and drives you know partnering with the manufacturers where they'll do the seminar here up there maybe on a big screen or something on the screen and then you open the curtains and there's the rainbow of new 911s outside and then they go off to drive in the mountains and then come back here for lunch and then more seminar and then spend the night and then drive in the morning you know on and on and on yeah so back here Square window double door Square window double door it's the original front of the building right there and then the bar was the front porch so show me where the posts are this is where the posts are well the post on the outside there no but where the windows are essentially that's I show it to you in the if you're on this side yep there you go Square double door Square double door and the post you can see if you look out the window you see the post on the and those are all the the front of the building still original oh look at that Kirsty and Ted and is that from The Tonight Show appearance no uh well it could be that night but it's the it's definitely the bulling Finch down oh I would love if that was the I would love if that was from The Tonight Show where they did it live and it was like really unpolished well yeah that was a mistake they all got so drunk and the difference between the the the east coast feed the west coast feed The Tonight Show the local news and I'll have to check the T in that picture they look pretty drunk sitting sitting in a bar getting tossed okay so now we leave here and look what we see and this is this is brings me to tears Scout and yellow car at the same time and it just makes my heart smile 10's eyes is too big and they both got here how they were supposed to oh they sure did they sure did yeah uh to you know what to piggyback on my commentary from in the vehicle about the road that I was on the group didn't really understand where I came from and we kind of deduced it all together and the moment Jay realized I came from the other direction suddenly it was like wait where did you go and then he made the point and is exactly right that Scout got here the way that she was supposed to get here and in that uh well but let's be very clear we're on a road yes that is in the middle of the mountains we're over a mile high right now yes and it's closed in that direction so every other car here got here from there and there were dozens of them and that's how it's been for two years or three years however long it's been since that road's been closed over there and somehow you came from that oh it's like siblings reunited it's a beautiful moment it's a beautiful moment one of the most famous in my opinion one of the most famous 997s is Jay and Nicole's yellow car I drive I'm driving my wife's car as Jay likes to say and seeing her with Scout is pretty damn cool there's going to be a lot of people who love both our shows lat night playset and the Letterman podcast that are going to be very happy to see this oh this makes my heart smile we're coming into the home stretch don't you worry we're there hey I'm just looking at your clock Tapp yeah you're tapping um so anyway we didn't have to work today I know I know so we'll insert that video here uh and then come back and then there's a beautiful video of of Nicole and I mean Nicole saying hi to Rupert and Irene we're gonna put that in here too because this is the community show right I love having members of the community on the show and we talk about this rert G of course hellodd deli.com but also Rupert G our friend Irene our friend and and there's a video of Nicole saying hi to them and hi to you as well yeah so we'll put that in here as Welly rert Irene look what we got here there's the smile and there's the wave I go guys a they love you so much and they told me to give you so much love from rert and Irene so much candy too and you as well hello ah look at you hello Deli I see what you did there um we're at nukem's there's the old sign over there and it's just amazing and you guys will see the video when you watch the episode but here's the star of the show right there see you soon see you soon have I seen this yet because we haven't talked about this yet and on yeah I know so she's gonna think that I didn't say hi behind no she's not she's not gonna think that hi Nicole I didn't see it yet he was holding it for me I love you I love Nicole they celebrate their 11th anniversary I know it's fantastic I seeing them uh the pictures of jcole happy happy anniversary guys uh we love you both very very very much so so we finish at Good Vibes and it's funny because Jay's like hey because I I you know he saw me with with this obviously at this point here this microphone and and he's like um I have a couple components for this but they're back at the house do you want to come down to the house right now and I'll add them to it and then we can get this thing working in your studio for when you get home and I couldn't because had to to come home but what it did though is say no next time I come down I'm bringing it down and this is a good excuse for us to hang out and it would be fun to do this together it'll be a good experience moving forward where this uh goes from more than just becoming sort of a totem in into an actual um part of the set working part of the set of the Letterman podcast and when I hit it with a pencil it'll actually do something different than that so anyway uh that was fantastic and it was so good seeing my friends and now it's time to drive home uh start taking the route home except except what it was a different route than you thought it was I took a very very very different route because I went down the crest a different way uh thankfully I didn't have to go back down alimon Road or any of that sort of stuff but I ended up coming up through the middle of California the goal was to get on to I5 and just cruise on up the coast um and and and get home as fast as possible Universe had other plans yeah Universe had other plans I ended up in Nevada um I ended up staying in Reno uh that night thankfully not killed in Reno and um all the good people of Reno are great and and and I and it was it was it was literally they like fine in the VIP but Reno you worried about the VIP was great the VIP Hollywood Hotel I highly recommend it location location location especially if you're on a budget uh a great place to stay in in Hollywood California um and uh so I stayed there and then the next morning on the road quickly because I was going to I needed to get back over to the I5 because I needed to get to Port right um and I did I got to Portland I got there for around 5:00 p.m.

and I went and met with um Jed Rosen who is the uh the founder of late nigh.

comom and um you talk about there's somebody who gets me in this world Jed gets me he does he gets me um oh he's so nice he's so nice he introduced me to his family and he's just he's such a nice guy and and and and and and his son is amazing um and and and with what late nighter like just talking about what late nighter is and please again go to late nighter Doom subscribe to the newsletter the daily newsletter talking about all the happenings of late night um for example Seth Meers just announced unfortunately that that that that due to budget cuts the band is gone and and that's such a sad thing well where is that story appearing it appears on the front page of late nighter uh writers who are moving around things show shows uh all the happenings of late night and and there's going to be more stuff uh Mark malco's podcast uh inside late night um you know hopefully we get to a point where this this this show becomes affiliated with late nighter as well but regardless we're all Fox old buddies we're all you know uh trying to celebrate this thing that we all love um from the different vantages and angles that we have Jed is certainly doing that and he's like I say it all to him he's doing the Lord's work he is he's a really really cool guy we had a really awesome visit um we had a fantastic he had a fantastic uh piece in his living room and I'll show a picture of it it's actually one of the buildings so so when Dave set went to the bridges and for those who are on the audio I'm pointing to the bridge behind us 96 that was around the time when Jay stole the microphone all of that stuff the old set had buildings behind Dave and one of those big buildings is sitting in Jed's living room and it is so cool it's so Tastefully done it's it's it's fantastic um we have a fantastic exchange introduction meeting meeting just really really neat to talk again a fisherman can always recognize another fisherman and I'm just grateful that there's somebody who uh gets SL puts up with me um you know present company included yeah there we go you get me and you um put up with me Jed same deal and uh so we had a we had just a really really nice meeting and and and uh showed him some of the stuff um showed him the Lio wits showed them you know the different things and then he's like well I got to give you something then and I'm like all right well thanks Jed what what are you thinking because I don't know if I can fit that building in my although his wife was like probably trying to Stu it no you should see how beautiful it it fits beautifully into their the the The Motif they have yeah you said that to me about the Razer Crest and a few different things that would fit beautifully within our motif of our living room that doesn't always the Razer Crest would be an amazing table centerpiece and conversation starter I can't anyway um I'll put a picture of the razor talking hands me this this is a square from one of the tiles of the original red floor from the Ed Sullivan Theater uh before they did the renovation to the new set and um and it's it's it's uh so when we went and saw Dave it was Blue the floor was the floor was a darker um there's the red floor right there and um and he had he had a few pieces and he he gave one to me and I was just I was so touched by it and uh it hasn't been on the setup up to this point because I wanted to show it here and now we put it on the set which is constantly evolving and moving around and we're going to we're gonna try and do that more as the Letterman podcast continues on um and then after that I went to Trader Joe's yeah I love Trader J shout out to Jed thank you very much for being so good thank you for getting me and thank you for putting up with me I appreciate you Jed thank you uh then I went to Trader Joe's and that was the last kind of stop for you and then it's like onward and upward home um other than a little experience being caught on the highway um just outside the house uh here about you know 20 minutes away uh where there was a delay for two hours which was very very frustrating I slept in the vehicle from about I don't know 1 in the morning to 4 in the morning and and then and then got home other than that it was uh that was the trip home and and thank you for allowing me to go to California and enjoy this um Amazing Adventure I'm sorry you weren't there the next time you will be there yeah but you got stuff um cooking and yeah no but I think it was good I think it was good that you went on your own I think that you know like when I go then it's just a different dynamic because you're worried about me and you know and this was such a letterman Centric trip um I think it worked out exactly like it was supposed to uh for that and yeah I I was happy to hear and to be listen to your adventures and yeah I'll come next time for sure we won't be staying at the VIP um well I love you and I appreciate you and I sayel the VIP Hollywood Hotel uh where the chalk lines come and pastel um oh wow um I love you I appreciate you thank you for uh putting up with me doing this um this this this show from here it means the world to me this show means the world to me and uh I just thank you so much for allowing me um the space to do this and giving me the support and um and when I'm feeling low about things or or things are stressed or whatever you encourage me and I thank you for that so um and thank you for coming on blman podcast yet again I can't wait until uh the next time um circumstance or uh proximity or the lack of a guest makes so you come back on again well I'm I'm really proud of you I'm proud of the what you have built and the community you built and how much you're taking over the studio uh but in serious S I am proud of you and you know like you know I'm sure you've gone over that on here but one of the things that so be plug number three but when we were doing all of our research for men's mental health for our platform he changed it um go to heang it.com when we were doing a lot our research and it was it was about men and um a lot of guys just felt that they didn't have a purpose anymore or that maybe their purpose was just to be like kind of a debit card for their family and not not that they didn't love their family but um you know some of them will woke up 20 years later and realize that they haven't really fulfilled some of the things that are near and dear to them and so to see you do that and to walk the walk and to get into the shoes is inspiring to a lot of people like it's inspiring and you know not a lot of people go after it with zero outcome that's the other thing too as long as you've been doing this I've I know you've had well maybe not zero there's a couple restraining orders that I'm just kidding I'm just kidding he doesn't have a restraining order but I you don't have an outcome other than you just want to emphasize the greatest body of broadcasting holy cow you almost got the tagline down the process is the outcome um is the okay and and and I and I thank you for saying that yeah like obviously everything is cake I said that to somebody not too long ago like like what if Dave never hires you like you don't get it I've already won we've already won this Show's already won we've we've already won like and being happy just makes you a better person and being a better person makes you a better Steward of the planet and being a better Steward of the planet is all that we should ask of of ourselves and so I think that you are contributing to to the planet by being happy there we go and celebrating the greatest body of broadcast work in history that of David Letterman company yeah you were very close you're getting you're getting it um thank you so much candy for coming on
