Don Giller is the pre-eminent historian and archivist of the productions of David Letterman and Company. For forty years Don has amassed a knowledge base and collection of Letterman material that is unmatched by anyone else, and includes every single episode of David Letterman’s broadcasts among many, many items from the shows and additional footage, much of which has never been aired.
After Late Show with David Letterman ended it’s run in 2015, Don began creating compilations of Letterman material and uploading them to the YouTube channel he started in 2009. These compilations organized many of the comedic bits, guest appearances, and historical broadcast moments the shows had to offer, and presented Late Night and Late Show with David Letterman in a new way; longform progression.
Don is heralded in many circles as one who has kept the Letterman fire burning in pop culture because of the hundreds of millions of views his channel has received, allowing fellow enthusiasts to relive the moments they loved, and allow new audiences to discover the prolific work of David Letterman and Company.
Don and Mike have a show-and-tell session where Don displays some of his many keepsakes, along with some very good discussion about their late friend Rick Scheckman, and how he helped play a major part in helping Don achieve his goal. Don also threatens Mike by way of fire multiple times.
