Billy Kimball’s career in entertainment has taken him on some interesting journeys and allowed him to experience being a part of some amazing projects as both a writer and producer. Some of those credits include Veep, SNL, The Oscars, The Simpsons, and he has a close connection with comedy legend Al Franken as well. Billy also helped assemble, and served as the executive producer for the Late Late show with Craig Kilborn, which was run by Worldwide Pants, David Letterman’s production company. Billy takes time from his busy schedule to take a trip down memory lane with Mike and give him the ins and outs about what it was like to reimagine the Late Late Show franchise with a new host after Tom Snyder’s departure, how Craig was selected for the gig, how much or little Letterman and Pants were involved, and much much more.

As always, The Letterman Podcast is brought to you in part by Rupert Jee’s Hello Deli. Go to Hello-deli.com to get official Late Show with David Letterman merchandise, before the Deli Sells and it becomes a Starbucks. That last part we made, up, but wouldn’t that be a tragedy?
